Michael Szatmary has turned fifty and decided to tell absolutely everything. In his latest stand-up special, he reflects on life with humor that is sharp, honest, and unafraid of taboo subjects. As the title suggests, the show touches on identity, family, children, ageing, and the absurdities of everyday life. But it is also about searching for one’s place in the world once you already have some life experience behind you — and still being able to laugh about it.
Michael Szatmary is one of the biggest stars of the Slovak stand-up scene and is also well known to Czech audiences. Although he studied political science and spent many years working as a journalist, he eventually decided to devote himself entirely to comedy and music. He realised that the stress of poverty is better than the stress of a regular job. And apparently, he made the right choice.
