Guided Walk: Stones of the Disappeared in Pisárky

Kultura

CZK 100

The Stones of the Disappeared are brass-topped paving stones embedded in pavements outside the last known homes of victims of Nazi persecution. They commemorate Jewish residents murdered during the Holocaust as well as those who were forced to leave their homes. Unobtrusive yet striking, the stones restore individual names and human stories to the public space—stories that might otherwise be forgotten.

The guided walk through Brno’s Pisárky district will begin at the House for Two Bachelors, designed by architect Otto Eisler. Eva Yildizová, Director of the ŠTETL FEST, will lead participants along the Stones of the Disappeared in this part of the city and introduce the lives of people and families connected with Pisárky. She will also present the Stones of the Disappeared project and explain how members of the public can become involved in laying new stones or caring for those already in place.
