The Jewish Cemetery in Ivančice is one of the oldest and most important Jewish burial grounds in Moravia. Its history dates back to the early 16th century, and approximately 1,500 tombstones have been preserved across its more than one-hectare site, with the oldest legible gravestone dating from 1552. The cemetery complex also includes a Neo-Romanesque ceremonial hall designed by the renowned Viennese architect Max Fleischer.
Visitors will learn about notable individuals buried here, the symbolism of Jewish gravestones, and the traditions associated with Jewish burial customs.
The tour will be conducted in Czech.
